My journey in the pet care industry began with hands-on experience laying the groundwork for the creation of Influential K9 Training. Over the past two years, under the guidance of several mentors, I have expanded my focus to empower both humans and their canine companions. My mission is to foster everlasting bonds built on trust, respect, and love through leadership.

Growing up in several different locations, I developed a strong fascination with various animal species, including our companion pets. This curiosity blossomed from my early interest in sea creatures and grew as I was surrounded by birds, dogs, cats, fish, and even horses on our farm. During my military service, I maintained a home full of pets, and after retiring, I pursued a Master's in Psychology with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis.

My passion for animal companionship led me to sign up as a pet sitter and dog walker on Rover, which reignited a spark I hadn't felt since childhood. This experience inspired me to start Heather Feeney's Colorful Companions, LLC pet care and enrichment program. Since then, I've dedicated myself to providing enrichment for pets and strengthening their bonds with humans.

I'm deeply passionate about animal behavior and husbandry, believing all pets deserve fulfilling lives. My work has not only allowed me to make a positive impact on the animals I care for but has also been incredibly healing for me. I look forward to continuing this rewarding journey, connecting with our animal companions, and growing my program to benefit more pets and their human families.

Beyond my other pet care business, I have gained 2-3 years of hands-on experience and I strive to attend conferences, dog sports, workshops, working seminars, and continuing education, as much as possible to enhance my technical skills, dog psychology knowledge, and methodologies for my clients. My master's degree coursework has also been a valuable asset in understanding dog psychology as well.
